Coronavirus is still a big threat to the world; hundreds of people are dying every day in China due to the coronavirus new variant. Hospitals are overcrowded there every day with people coming with new Covid BF7 variant symptoms. Omicron’s subvariant BF.7 is now the culprit for increasing infection and cases in China.

Covid BF7 variant symptoms

The full name of the new corona variant is BA.5.2.1.7. As SARS CoV 2 evolved, it acquired a number of mutations, which lead to a number of variants such as Alpha, Delta, and Omicron. These variants further went through mutations and formed many sub-variants of coronavirus.

Infectivity Rate of New Covid Variant

The new subvariant of the coronavirus is highly infectious as the infectivity rate of a new variant of omicron is very high. Its R-value is 18 and is considered very high. That is, a person infected with the coronavirus new variant BF.7 can spread the virus to 18 people. The high infectivity rate of the new variant is the reason why covid is spreading so fast in China.

However, the virus is primarily spreading and causing mortalities in China, it has been found in the United States of America, Denmark, Germany, France, and India also causing fear in the population. Since the new variant of covid is highly infectious, read this article carefully.

New Covid BF7 Variant Detailed

Since the beginning of November, cases of Covid-19 have increased worldwide. China is struggling badly with a new surge of cases, however; the situation is under control in the United States, India, and other countries where a new variant of corona found. According to some new estimates, China is at risk of deaths of about two million people. In addition, with this infectivity rate, more than 60% of China’s population can be affected in a few months.

The Corona outbreak in China is causing concern which is a reason for worry, but there is no serious threat in neighboring contrary India. There were restrictions in China until a few months ago but the situation is still getting worse. A new variant of omicron BF.7 is also making a serious impact in China. Poor medical policy and the effectiveness of vaccines in China are under question. BF.7 variant had arrived in India several months back and was found in some other countries too but it had no effect there.

How dangerous is The New Covid BF7 Variant?

The basis on the reports coming from China, the sub-variant of omicron BF7 is more dangerous than the rest of the omicron sub-variants. It spreads rapidly since has the highest transmissibility and infects many people. Other variants of Omicron can infect an average of four people and the incubation period of the variant is less. The incubation period is the period between exposure to the virus and the appearance of the first symptoms of the disease. For example, if someone gets exposed to the virus on 1 January and the first symptoms appear on 5 January then the incubation period would be 5 days.

Coronavirus New Variant Symptoms

The symptoms of this variant are also similar to the earlier sub-variants of Omicron. Symptoms may include:

  • Moderate fever
  • Body aches
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Running nose
  • Cough and cold-like symptoms
  • Fatigue
  • Nausea and Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Breathlessness

This sub-variant can cause severe symptoms and complications of the disease in people who have low immunity and some other comorbidities. These symptoms can be mild to moderate that depends on individual to individual but if you have flu-like symptoms specifically fever then you should get the Covid test done. You may go for the Covid antigen test or Covid RTPCR test to confirm the diagnosis.

Covid New Variant Precautions

Hand Hygiene

Wash your hands with soap liquid or use Sanitizer before and after touching any object. Hand washing is the best precaution, wash your hand for a minimum of 20 seconds with soap and water, and if your water is not available then you can use sanitizers.

Avoid Going to Crowded places

To avoid exposure to the coronavirus, you should stay home and avoid going out. Prefer working from home and do not go to crowded places especially do not use public transport if have to go out with something urgent.

Maintain a Physical Distance

Corona is caused by direct contact or coming in contact with the infected person, and you never know if come in contact with a person who does not have symptoms but can spread the infection even during the incubation period. Therefore, it is very important to keep a physical distance of at least 6 feet from people as per the CDC guidelines.

Wear a MASK

Do wear a mask when you go out and it should be replaced every day preferably every 8 hours. Mask will help you to avoid a droplet infection. This is two-way protection if prevent yourself from getting an infection and others are also prevented if you are infected. Apart from Corona, mask help protects you from the negative effect of pollution and from many other infections.

Isolation

If you have covid symptoms, isolation is the best tool to prevent your near and dear. Use a mask even if you are in isolation and get your test done. Do not contact any family member until your report’s result comes negative.
